Title: iPod Classic firmware update?
Post by: Eccles on May 08, 2008, 01:02:23 am
I read recently that Apple has released new firmware - 1.1.2 - for the iPod Classic, but MC 12.0.493 still has that option grayed-out for my 80GB Classic.  Any ETA on this function becoming available in MC for the Classic?

We can't update firmware on the classics or the new nano's. That's the way Apple wants it and that's the way it'll have to be for now.

Ugh, time to fire up iTunes again, I guess.  (I see TechRepublic lists iTunes - or Apple in general - as one of the 10 most annoying programs on the Internet. (http://content.techrepublic.com.com/2346-3513_11-202392-3.html)

Wow, apple is a pain.  Worst yet is I can not update my ipod on my mac because it will only update it to a mac format.  Why, it can handle the windows formatted ipods just fine.
