Title: Problem restoring a license
Post by: jlkd on May 09, 2008, 09:50:23 am
I am having difficulties restoring my license.  I have twice requested a license and was provided a .mjr.  Each time I tell Medicenter 12 to restore the license from where I saved on my computer, it states that my trial version is expired.  I'm a long time MC.  Can someone advise how I can contact MC support..or is this MC support?

This is support.  Check your system date.  It may be off.

You should be able to click on the mjr file.  Make sure you have the right version of MC -- one that matches your license.

More info is in the link above on "Purchase".

My system date is correct.  I have Mediacenter 12.  I was provided a mediacenter 12 license .mjr   I open Mediacenter 12, it tells me my trial version has expired.  I tell it to restore from the .mjr file.  I'm in a loop.  It then asks if I want to restore from my license and I'm back on the site to enter it my license.  I've used up 2 of my restores already.

The mjr file may not be the current one.  Find it in Explorer.  You can click on it to install it.  But it only lasts 14 days, then you need to Restore.

OK...thanks.  That did it.  I thought I was simply supposed to navigate to it when I was asked if I wanted to restore from a file on my drive.  It wouldn't restore that way.  I was using the correct .mjr.  When I navigated to it, as you explained, and simply clicked on it, it did restore.  Thanks for the help.

The e-mail address for your MC12 license is not the same as the address you used for the forum.  It's in this form:

jxxx@xxxx.com

You also have two older licenses.  I'm guessing you're using an older license.

You can mail me your details and let me know what e-mail you want to use.  I'm jimh at jriver.
