Title: Duplicate albums titles listed on the iPod under Albums

I have one particular album that is being listed multiple times under Album on my iPod.  The album happens to have ten songs and the album is also listed ten times.  The album only gets listed once under Artist.  Any idea or suggestions?

Is it a mix album? Is there anything strange about the artist name, album name, album artist name?

There is nothing strange about the album.  Only one artist per the entire album.

I entered the artist name under album artist in the internal tags for all of the songs of that particular album to see what would happen.  Low and behold the problem is now gone.  So what does that leave us with as to what is the root cause of the problem?
