My ipod has a shuffle mode called shuffle albums (I think, I can't remember it's name exactly), whereby I can choose to play say a playlist or a genre or all songs, and it will shuffle the songs but each album will play together.
Is there a way to do this with smartlists?
If not, could I make it a feature request?

Since I most always play Albums rather than Songs I would love to see this

100 Random Albums smartlist:
[Media Type]=[Audio] [track #]=1 ~n=100 ~a
100 Rock Albums smartlist:
[Media Type]=[Audio] [Genre]=[Rock] [track #]=1 ~n=100 ~a

i do the same. the method matt shows works great. i dont know if you use it with a remote, but what i do, is using some smartlists that gives me 1 random album only. i added a not skipped in the last 7 days (or more, depending on the list) rule to it. really works great.

Thanks Matt. :)

those Smartlists Matt suggested work fine for adding albums to Playing Now,
but still does not answer how to shuffle the Playing Now (which already contains albums, or to add additional albums shuffles into the existing ones) without disrupting the continuity of each album.
So yes it works, but is only for 1/2 the answer.
