Title: Enable screensaver when in theater view mode or when paused
Post by: Osho on May 27, 2008, 03:58:55 pm
Hi,

It seems to me that screensaver and display stand-by (low power mode) are disabled when MC12 theater view is displayed. I would like to enable screensaver and display stand-by in theaterview. Is it possible to do so?

Similary, when a video/audio is paused in Display View, screensaver and display stand-by are turned off. Is it possible to keep them enabled when a video/audio is displayed?

thanks,
Osho

The screen-saver should not be disabled in Theater View but is in Display View.

Not for me. The screen-saver never comes in Theater View for me.

It's funny you should mention this. I too have recently noticed probs with this (Win XP). The screensaver always used to kick in reliably after 20 minutes of inactivity while in Theater View but lately I'm finding it's hit and miss. I had put it down as a system thing to check but perhaps it's MC?

I can't reproduce this.  I set the screensaver to one minute.  Start playing audio.  Show Theater View.

One minute later, screensaver.

For Display View, shouldn't screensaver be allowed to kick in if the movie is on pause for a while?

Yeah, this is what I think should happen too. While in Display View, MC should allow system power settings to kick in after x amount of time IF playback is in a paused state.

I can't reproduce this.  I set the screensaver to one minute.  Start playing audio.  Show Theater View.

One minute later, screensaver.

It doesn't appear to be consistent. I mean, I only notice it when it doesn't work. As soon as I test it in the way you've done, it seems to return to normal. Not sure about this one yet... I'll try to gather some more info.

Any updates on not-disabling screensaver when paused in display view mode?

thanks,

What about an "in-house" MC screensaver (e.g. play a smartlist/slideshow of images)?

I like that idea!
