Title: File Naming
Post by: LeoKurz on June 08, 2008, 04:46:25 am
Hello,

I have a problem here: I rip a CD an it has a file name "Touché D'Amour". According to my naming rule, it generates a filname "02 - Touché D'Amour.mp3" which is unreadable afterwards :-( Is there a chance to limit the naming of the files to "valid" characters?? I have quite a lot of European Titles (French, German...) with a lot of special characters, so this *is* a problem for me, not only with this one file...

Help!

Cheers
__Leo

Why would a name like 02 - Touché D'Amour.mp3 be unreadable?

I have a lot of filenames with accented characters and apostrophes.

Are you using a standard Windows OS and a local hard drive?

EDIT

MC is supposed to replace illegal characters with underscores and correctly link the fixed filenames. Is this not happening when the name would really contain an illegal character like one of the following: ? /  \  |  <  >  :  "  *
