Title: Upgrade/Move from 7.1 to 8.
Post by: savincent1 on July 31, 2002, 08:38:36 am
I have read the FAQ on both versions and have one question that I need answered to clarify what I think I read. I am a registered user of 7, do I need to make another purchase of a license to be a true registered owner of 8 or does my license for 7 allow me to download the 8 and enter in the 7 registration code? I would hate to think that this will be like Windows and that we have to pay for every upgrade that comes out.

Thanks for the clarification.

Use Your Backed Up RRG File To Register MJ8

If You Have MJ7 Installed, And Install MJ8 It Will Be Registed.

Make Sure You Back Up Your RRG File.

If I was a registered 7.1 user, and replaced hard drives, reinstalled 8.0 instead, is there a way to enter the registration code from 7.1 into the newly installed 8.0?

And a restore in the same place.  A 7.x license (rrg file) can be restored in 8.0.

This is covered in the FAQ.
