Title: Simple lyrics smartlist question
Post by: Moe on June 15, 2008, 05:07:42 am
I am trying to build a smartlist that will show all of my songs with no lyrics and I can't get it to work.

Searching the forum confirmed that I thought I was doing it correctly by using [media type]=audio [lyrics]=<empty> but when I apply this smartlist I get no results back.

If I make a smartlist to try and show all my songs that do have lyrics and exclude those that don't I get all my songs included in the list, even those with no lyrics.

I have triple checked to make sure that the songs with no lyrics have their lyrics field completely blank so I know that isn't the problem.

I am stumped.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

In case it matters, I am using MC 12.0.497

I have the same smartlist, which works. I copied it here:

[Lyrics]=[] [Media Type]=[Audio]

That doesn't work either.  Here is a screenshot of the smartlist editor.

I have over 2,000 songs with no lyrics and not a single one is returned when I apply this smartlist.  It seems like the <empty> field is not registering or something.

It works for me, but I'm on 12.0.514 which is a newer version. I suggest you upgrade to 12.0.514.

i cant imagine this was fixed between 497 and 514 but it'd be worth a shot.

Upgrading is just a guess, eliminates a variable if nothing else.

The smatlist is so simple, the most logical reason it does not work is that there is something in the lyrics tag.  So my next suggestion is to manually clear the lyrics tag for a few files and see if the smatlist picks them up.

I upgraded to 514 and the problem seems to have gone away  ;D

Thank you all.
