Title: MC12 Can't Find The Music Library
Post by: lydia42 on June 16, 2008, 01:58:08 pm

I have 2 computers on my home network.  My music files are on a USB drive that I physically move from one computer to the other.  For several months I have successfully used MC12 on the "main" computer, and Media Jukebox on the "second" computer.

This weekend I upgraded Jukebox to MC12.  The install seemed to go fine except MC12 came up with a blank library.  All attempts to reattach to the Jukebox library failed.  At this point I have uninstalled Jukebox, physically deleted the MC12 Library directory, and reinstalled MC12 with the latest version from the Interact Forum.

I can import my files into MC12 on the "second" computer and I can successfully create a Library Backup.  However, MC12 does not recognize the Library on restart - I'm presented with a prompt to import music.  My attempts at Restoring the Library result in a screen that says the Restore was successful, but no music files are presented.  So, I reimport and reconfigure my screen layout - and all is good until I close and restart MC12.

Suggestions for establishing a reliable link between MC12 and the Library data?

Thank you.

<Bump>

MC folks: Any idea how this could happen?  Are there MJ/MC differences that could cause this disconnect?

H Lydia,

I'm not really sure what is going on. It sounds like you are having trouble with drive letters. Is the USB drive the same letter on both systems?
