Title: Latest FFDSHOW - No Video Decoder Listed
Post by: jroyale on June 17, 2008, 11:26:32 am
I downloaded the latest stable version of ffdshow from After Dawn (FFDSHOW rev. 610 (20061201) and went into the filter section (MC) to select video filter and the only video decoder listed is the FFDSHOW MPEG-4 Video decoder.  I'm playing a number of files but mainly MKV and m2t.  I've notice that it is autoselecting for the m2t file type and if I change deinterlacing settings in FFDSHOW they do affect the video.  So i'd just like to clarify i'm not missing anything here as it appears the mpeg-4 decoder is simply the name for it?

Thanks for your help.

(FFDSHOW rev. 610 (20061201)

Does not look like the latest version.

FFDSHOW MPEG-4 Video decoder

I think this was the older name of the same decoder which is now called "FFDShow Video Decoder".

Yes there are many many versions out since 2006, which it appears is when your 'latest stable' version is from. Mine is from April 2008. You can get new versions from links on forums.doom9.org or sourceforge.net.
