Thanks for posting this. Very detailed and at the same time confirms for me that the answer to the question "which is best" is relative to your musical taste and needs (I think the study's quote.."Any overall ranking is highly dependent on the mix of music chosen" sums it up well).  

Also, this study only looked at 64kbps files which exclude the variable of different users needs/capabilities for either smaller or larger files based on the available space on the users portable device which would make the picture even more murky.
