Title: JRiver UPnP media server access
Post by: pmalick on July 28, 2008, 05:53:44 am
Hi,

Hi,

I’m working on a software that includes a UPnP Control Point using the Microsoft UPnP stack. For all the media servers I tested with (such as SimpleCenter, myIHome, TVersity, etc…), the Discovery of devices, and using services on these devices work well, except for J River’s…

After the UPnP Discovery phase, I'm able to get a pointer on the JRiver UPnP Media Server as well as its name an its UDN.
But accessing to the device services seems to be impossible :
•             If we search the device via UDN, the system tells us that a device having this UDN doesn’t exist.
•             If we try to use a service using the pointer on the device, It doesn't work

I only have this problem on the JRiver UPnP media server. Is there something special to do to access the jriver UPnP media server service

Thanks for your help

I just added this in Media Center 12.0.520:

12.0.520 (7/2/2008)

...
2. NEW: UPnP Search For Servers will respond to UDN/UUID requests.

Make sure you're running the latest version.

I'm glad to see the interest in UPnP!

You can get the most recent build from the top of the MC12 board.

If you are looking for ideas, suggestions, beta testing, etc. please let me know.  I use MC as the media center for over 500 feature length movies, 800+ CDs, all fully cataloged, etc.  I'm VERY interested in expanding the UPnP capabilities of MC.
