Title: Syncing FLAC library is slow

I'm trying to sync my entire 15K FLAC library with a hard drive and encode to mp3s for portable usage.  Unfortunately, syncing is painfully slow.  Converting the files seems to be going much slower than it should and usually does.  Is this a bug or what could be going on?

Over the LAN or local drive? FLAC to mp3 with with type of cpu/ram? How long is it taking?

Converting that many files is always going to be painfully slow.

How slow is it exactly?
