Noticed KingSparta has been posting his media server address recently, so tonight I tried it for the first time. Amazing - I was looking at a library from across the globe! I played one Abba song - perfect! Guess Im naive, but this stuff is a revelation to me. In fact it feels a little bit dangerous, like Im doing something I shouldnt. I didnt even want to see if I could have copied the music files from the remote library. Imagine - remote playback from a machine sat in a back room in my house. Now I understand what some of the posters in this forum are referring to, eg glissando etc. All I need now is a lot more hardware, a PDA thatI can use as a remote conrol for home playlists, and an employer that will allow me to serve up music from my home to my office :). Tonight has really opened my eyes to the powers of MJ.

Media Server is a really cool application. There are some things that should be worked on a little..cough*apl*cough but all in all it's great.
I think KingSparta's server has been used a lot lately. I was using it yesterday for a couple hours while cleaning out my car. I ran about 130ft of cat5 wire from my router in the house to the car in the garage and cranked it up.
It's a good thing my closest neighbor is over a half a mile away. It was kinda loud outside. :)
