I get "Windows Explorer has stopped working" in Vista when and only when 529 is installed (verifed through a system restore).
Windows explorer crashes if I try opening Word or Excel from a pinned shortcut or shortcut for most recently used programs on the Start Menu (but not from within the Start Menu's Microsoft folder). After Windows Explorer crashes, Word/Excel does not open. All other shortcuts seem to be workig fine. My Office version is 2003.
I also get "Windows Explorer has stopped working" if I right-click any folder in Windows Explorer.

Never heard of a problem like that.
Can you duplicate it?

It sounds like a shell extension issue. Please try restarting the computer.

Restarting didn't help, so I did another system restore to August 4 (and build 497) and the problem goes away.

That really sounds like a Shell Extension issue. Try this...
1. In your working version, go to Tools --> Options --> General --> Shell Options and uncheck Enable shell integration.
2. Close MC and restart the computer. Don't skip this because you are lazy!
3. Then install build 529.
4. See if you have any problems. If not, then you can re-enable Shell Extensions if you want them (by re-checking the above option). I leave mine unchecked because I don't use them and it causes less problems without them.

I had problems with this a while back.
Do as glynor suggested, and also do the same for Jukebox if you have that installed. Not having used Jukebox for a while it didn't even cross my mind, and of course that ended up being the one that was causing the problem...

Fixed! Many thanks for the help.
I also had Jukebox installed. I removed it but I'm still not going to activate shell integration. Just don't need it.
