Title: Viewing files from Windows Explorer to Playing Now
Post by: dcwebman on August 07, 2008, 07:40:30 am
I'm sure I don't understand the way it's supposed to work. I wanted to view some videos I had made in MC but didn't want to import them. With the shell extension in Windows Explorer, I selected Add to Playing Now instead of Import. They were analyzed (not exactly sure why) and were put in Playing Now where I was able to view them. But when I switched over to the Video icon, there they were in my library. I tried this same thing with images but they would only show up in Playing Now as expected.

Why are videos getting imported this way?

Tools --> Options --> General --> Importing & Tagging --> Automatically import files when played.  I believe checked is the default setting.

Thanks for the reply. I could have sworn I put that part in my post, but I have that option UNCHECKED. That's why the action is confusing.

Any other thoughts?

Guess this looks like a bug then. When "Automatically import files when played" is unchecked, audio files follow that option but video files ignore it and automatically get imported.
