Title: songs appearing twice on
Post by: adrien on August 14, 2008, 12:20:36 pm
Hi,
Why are the songs appearing twice on my phone (motorola razr mt3 cell).
But mostly, how do I stop Media Jukebox from doing that?
I've worked with other apps and this is the first time it happens.
Very annoying. I wasted a lot time now.

Maybe you're syncing playlists that have those songs, too.

Maybe. I don't know. How do I find out?
I dont know about playlists. How do I ask MJ to only transfer the songs. I do ask it to convert from 320 to 160Mhz, but that's all.

Try removing all the files from the phone (in MC's Handheld Details view).  Then sync again.

I did. From the MJukebox's Handheld Details, I deleted all my mp3, except the photos and movies taken with my cell.
Then I transferred four mp3 from four different folders from my hard drive. It's all fine in MJ's Handheld Details. And if I look in the Windows Explore in my device's folder, there's four files.
But on my device, the files shows twice, still !! Only with MJ this happens.
Quite anoying. So much wasted time.
I downloaded the latest version.
How to resolve this?

I wish I could send you a print screen. Is this possible.

I don't have a Motorola Razr phone, but I think MC treats it as a general drive device. When MJ12 syncs a "drive device" it creates an mpl file in the defined database directory.

Maybe the phone gets info about the duplicates from that file. The file has the "system" attribute. To see it you may need to set Windows Explorer to show hidden system files. If the problem is caused by the mpl file you can define a database folder outside the phone location (e.g. C:\handheld\database\). You can adjust this in Handheld Options > Files & Paths.

If you sync playlists MJ12 creates playlist files on the device. You can set also the playlists to go to a different location (e.g. C:\handheld\playlists\).

You need to post a link to an external web site. For example, www.photobucket.com.

Hi,
I dont really understand. I dont know what do to. I dont know where mpl file nor the defined database directory. I searched the device and did not find a mpl file.

Here's a print screen. I put one song. The rest of the files are videos and pictures taken with the phone.

I made some changes in the File & Paths, but still seeing the song twice on my phone.
