Title: When I Import .m2ts video files MC thinks they are Data! Help Please!
Post by: chippyhawkeye on August 19, 2008, 05:42:45 pm
Hi,

I use an HD camera and import Home video files into MC.  When I import files via add folder to library with m2t or m2ts extensions, they import, but MC sees them as Data instead of video.  If I change the tag to video they play fine.  They only remaining problem is the thumbnails will not generate.  Vista recognizes them and autogenerates thumbnails in explorer views.  I assume it has something to do with MC not originally recognizing them as video files.  Any ideas?

thanks,
Chip

You can manually change the media type from data to Video. After doing that, try playing the files. These files are played in DirectShow, so you must make sure the file types are set to be played in DirectShow. You should also make sure you have the right DirectShow filters to decode them and try specifying the decoder filters.
