There's a show called IFA going on right now in Berlin, so there are a lot of new devices being introduced. I found an interesting one on Engadget.
It also has a built-in woofer and a USB port so you can play files from your USB stick.

So it's all nice and clean. The question becomes: do you want a really clean, simple environment that truly is just that? Or can you build a room with the right cables and storage areas to take stacks of components and hide them away, giving great audio & video, while keeping them hidden. These tiny units may be neat but I think they're limited to the low-end, possibly medium-end, market. So no subwoofer? I have a feeling a decent 12" subwoofer will outpower something like this...just a thought.
