Is there any way to create a Smart List which begins by selecting the entries currently in Playing Now?
-
~d=t
or in the wizard
Limit Database to Playing Now
However I've found that it won't remove tracks until MC is restarted.

Hmmm... doesn't work at all for me. :(

had not used it for a while, but it looks like it is not working here also. just get an empty smartlist.
i use: [Media Type]=[Audio] ~d=t
and there are 21 audio tracks in playing now.
edit: i just added a file to playing now, and only that file shows up in the smartlist, an other file is playin g in the mean time.
edit2: it seems like it works after you made the smart list and cleaned your playing now. everything added to playing now after that shows up nicely.

interesting... i hadn't grokked that behavior.
unfortunately it is exactly the opposite of the behavior i need.

True, but try clearing playing now and then add some more files...
I didn't reply because when I tried that here, ~d=t returned every file passed through playing now in any given session, rather than reflect the current status of the playing now list.
-marko.

yes, i know. it shows the files in playing now and in 'recent playing nows'. i think that in this part of the database there are some data that tells what song is playing now, what is in playing now at the moment, and how the previous playing now looks like. would be nice if we could get some way to use those data in smartlists.
