Title: Updating play stats while listening at work & at home

I have my iPod and library at home, where I sync it daily. At work, I use MC 12 to listen to tracks directly from my iPod but don't sync, ostensibly because there's nothing to transfer. But it dawned on me that the play stats don't get updated on the iPod. What settings should I use to sync back just the play stats in this scenario?

I guess that post was clear as mud, let's try it this way: when playing tracks directly off the iPod, is there a way to have MC update the play stats on the iPod itself?
