Is there any discount when purchasing MC13 for MC12 users with licences prior to 8 August?
Thanks
-
It's $19.98 to upgrade from any previous version back to Media Jukebox 8. You must have the version installed and licensed to get the upgrade price. Thanks for asking.

Great :) Thanks

I am not sure when I purchased MC12, but way long ago (1 yr?). When I can upgrade to MC13 for 19.98? is MC13 ok to be put on my system?

You can upgrade now if you want to.
Make sure to have the current version of MC12 installed on your system, and all registered and whatnot. Then download and install MC13 from the top of this board. Install it and use it to buy the new version. It will "detect" that you own MC12 and you'll get the upgrade pricing then.
MC13 is still VERY BETA at this point. It works pretty well and is fairly stable, but it certainly wouldn't be considered "production quality" at this point. The main issue isn't that it will be crash-prone or anything (the current build is fairly stable in that regard). This issue is that it is still under very heavy active development, and JRiver may change things that could break your library, make you re-import all your files, re-generate thumbnails, delete all your custom views and start over, chase your dog, scare your kids, or who knows what else.
You can have both MC12 and MC13 installed at the same time, so it is certainly possible to buy the upgrade and keep MC13 installed to allow you to play with it, but use MC12 for your real day-to-day media use. Then, once MC13 has come a bit further along, you can switch over fully.

I can't find how to buy after downloaded MC13. I have MC12 since long ago.

I think glynor's posted his good advice a bit too early. Apparently JRiver has not activated the upgrade system yet.
For now, you can just use the preview version of MC13.
But don't worry, sooner or later a forthcoming build will ask you to upgrade. ;)

The current version of MC13 works with an MC12 license. This won't be true sometime in the future.
Thanks, Mats.

Apparently I'm physic and I have ESPN. I live in the future. ;D

Apparently I'm physic ...
errr.... from one of the online dictionaries:
physic: 1. a medicine that purges; cathartic; laxative.

Exactly.

I tried to install MC13 on my fresh work computer, but I would not accept the license. At least it still displays 30 day evaluation in registration frame.
And when i try to buy, it goes to a url like this:
https://rover.jriver.com/cgi-bin/buy.cgi?productid=33&upgradefrom=****-****-****-****-****-****
but the price is still 39,98 (why cant you just take 40... :) ).
Do I have to install MC12 first on the machine? I was actually just going to upgrade my portable install, but it needs a installed version before one can do that...

Please see my first post at the top of this thread. You need to have MC12 installed and licensed before you'll get an upgrade price. An MC12 license will work with MC13 for now.
-
Sorry, I forgot to mention that I also tried to buy a upgrade license on my home computer, which was not possible. There is no buy button on this. It seems to regard MC13 as valid, at least on the "registration info" page...
-
If you have an MC12 license, MC 13 will honor it (for now).
