My MC12 plays audio files correctly with build 497, but plays distorted audio with both builds 529 and 533 when playback option is "Direct sound". Everything is ok with "Wave out" or "Asio". Returning to build 497 solves the problem. "Direct sound" is no longer supported? If so why the option is still there?
Other players are ok (i.e. Windows Media Player)
Help me please to understand why!
Luigi

There are some new Direct Sound options that seem to be causing problems, probably with some sound cards. Check the histories of the releases for more.
Here's the change:
NEW: Added DirectSound channel modes "Hardware Direct (sound card chooses)" and "Do Not Specify Channels" to help with surround sound routing on some hardware.
-
Please try the different channel routing modes in DirectSound mode. Remember to stop playback (with the stop button) for changes to get applied.

Thanks for the hint: the recommended "Default channels" setting causes the problem, while "All channels" and "Hardware direct" work correctly.
Thanks for the hint. :) :) :)
Continue your very good job, and I'll continue to buy the upgrades!
