Title: Podcasts from MC12 & iTunes into MC13 Problems
Post by: Mighty_A-MAN on September 21, 2008, 08:17:21 am
Hi there,

I'm wondering if there's a solution to my following problem:

I've upgraded to MC13. While all previously downloaded Podcasts (both through MC12 and iTunes) do show up on the Video section, they don't appear under the Podcasts section, which is actually free of any content.
If I subscribe to a Podcast I've subscribed already in MC12, MC13 wants to re-download all previous Podcasts, which are actually already on my disc.

I already have most Podcasts twice on my HDD, as I'm downloading them through iTunes (for iPod touch synchronisation). Since I prefer MC big times, I don't want iTunes doing the job alone. I would not like to watch Podcasts via iTunes and only use MC.

An ideal world would be if files would be on the HDD only once but detected on both programs through their Podcasts subscribtion mechanism.

It would already help if at least I could make all downloaded Podcasts appear within MC13's Podcast organisation without the need of downloading them all again ...

Any hints?

Thanks and best regards,

Mighty A-MAN

You might be able to move your old podcast config file.  It's podcast.xml.  Here's more:

Hi Jim

Thanks a lot, that worked out well.

So I guess there's no way of downloading stuff through either iTunes or MC and use the same file for both programmes, right?

Thanks and best regards,

Create a smartlist for iTunes podcasts. They won't show up in downloaded podcasts but it makes them easy to sync. That's what I do for several podcasts that only seem to download with iTunes.

I'm not sure if you would be able to move that folder into the podcast section.
