Each time i open MC13 I get the following message:-
"This database is already in use by another user"
I have tried rebooting system which has no effect. I don't think the system crashed but it is somehow stuck in this mode.

Check if the library folder contains a file named "lock.jmd". It should not be there when MC is closed (all instances of MC), but if it exists you can try to delete it.

No sign of lock.jmd anywhere in the system.
I'm still getting the same database locked message

Are any other users logged in?
Any third party software in use?
I'm going to split this to a new thread.

No other users logged in.
No third party software (that I am aware of)
MC 12 still operates fine on this PC.

Is it running at the same time you have this problem?
-
No,
MC13 is the only thing running when I have the problem.
There was a lock.jmd file in C:\ however I deleted this, then rebooted the PC and still have teh same problem.
-
I have also tried un-installing MC 13
When I re-install MC 13 fires up, creates a lock.jmd file in C:\
If I close MC 13 and delete the lock file I still get the error message about teh database bing locked.
I tried creating a new library but this also had no effect.

I too found an abandoned lock.jmd file on the root of my C: drive. It was dated September 11, 2008 so it could have been created by the current preview build. A newer unreleased build does not create such a file on the root. The lock.jmd file appears correctly in the library location when MC is started and the library is loaded. It disappears when MC is closed.
I don't know if your problem is related to the additional lock.jmd file.

Thanks,
I guess I'll come back to this a little later.

It's a bug with the first preview of MC 13 -- it's creating the lock file in the working path (C:\, desktop folder, etc.). If you don't have full rights there (like under Vista with UAC), you'll have problems.
The next preview will fix this.

Fixed in latest preview, thanks
