Title: Somewhat OT: McCain Campaign directly affected by DMCA

Cliff notes:
McCain's YouTube submissions are being pulled from the site due to DMCA complaints.
Almost all Campaign videos use third party content that is copyrighted.
The use of that content is legal under 'fair use', but the DMCA does not directly provide for 'fair use'.
The copyright holders are asking YouTube to remove the videos and YouTube is complying.  Following the rules set forth under current law, McCain can have them reinstated but only after a lengthy court process.  Bottom line is that the videos would remain offline until after the election and this does not make the McCain campaign happy.

Hopefully this will cause the politicians to re-think the draconian DMCA, but it is more liekly that they will just codify a specific exemption for themselves.
