When I import images from compact flash cards into any location on my computers that have Media Center, the jpg and RAW files all get tagged with" Media Center file".
Not a problem for jpg's, but a big problem for some high end image editing programs I use (Adobe, DXO). They will not import the RAW images because they don't recognize the "Media Center file" tag and it's associated tag icon.
How do I change whatever default is tagging my image files??
Thanks,

What tag are you referring to? Or is this just the file associations? What error message are you getting out of adobe and dxo?
-
Perhaps tag is not the right name. When you look at the file you see the logo that you see at the upper right corner of this page and "Media Center file" as the file's generic name.
If you were to do the right click routine on the image file and check "Properties" you would see "Media Center file" instead of jpg or CR2 (for RAW image file).
Media Center is embedding an identity in the file that I do not want in the file. That is what I need to eliminate.

MC is just registering with the OS that it is the default application for those file types. Look for file associations in options. Deselect the appropriate file types.
Nothing is embedded.

Thank you.
Are you referring to Options in MC?
-
Yes.
-
It's under Tools/Options/File Associations in MC.
And welcome to the forum.

Thank you both for the help - I'll do as you suggest.
