Title: Reading year in ID Tag
Post by: Todd on July 24, 2002, 04:07:20 pm
In my MP3s, if I don't know exactly what year a song was released, I input it in the format 196x, 197x, 198x, etc. Media Jukebox, however, drops the "x". The year is displayed as 196, 197, 198, etc. Any chance this can be addressed in an upcoming release.

Thanks,
Todd

If I am not mistaken the year field requires a number\year per the id3 specs.

Is it possible to blank out zeroes in the year-field?

Thanks.

The ID3 spec may require a number, but it is possible to work around this. MusicMatch accepts and displays the 198x for when I know a song is from the 1980s, but don't know the year. (Of course, that seems to be the only thing MM does that MJ doesn't.) Of course, this isn't a huge issue, but it would be nice to have this feature included in a future release.

Thanks,
