Title: Buffer size / registry key in MC13?
Post by: stefansmith on November 03, 2008, 04:37:23 am
Hi, in MC13 is it possible to adjust the buffer size in the registry as outlined here for MC12?:

Here's the registry key you can play with, but again we recommend using the default 6000 (6 seconds) for most all uses:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\JRiver\Media Center 12\Player Core\Secondary Buffer Minimum MS

What would be the purpose and/or benefit from increasing the buffer size?

Is this supposed to enable a whole track or CD to be buffered into RAM, which should in turn make the music sound better?

-or-

Something else?

There have been no changes, but there's still little reason to customize this.  This is why it's a hidden registry option instead of in options.
