iPAQ PDA with a wireless lan card
running JRiver web remote
with the PC sound cabled into the lounge and the HiFi room
WHAT A COOL SOLUTION - multi room HiFi with a 20,000 Track Jukebox!
I Love Media Jukebox and I love J River (in an entirely metaphorical sense - I'm sure you understand)
If I understood how web remote worked, I'd love to tart up the interface
Minor Niggle for Matt or someone - the web remote won't play a single track, only an entire album - bug or am I being stupid?

Thanks for your (uh metaphorical) love.
The single track problem should only be when used with Glissando.
I assume you're using a current version of webremote.
I've been doing some of the same sort of thing at home with a Toshiba PDA with built-in 802.11b wireless ethernet.

Jim
It seems to only occur on the PDA browser (CE3 on an iPAQ)
metaphorically yours

I really really want IR remote control.
Could you please post some detailed information as to where I can find this product and what it costs? I hesistate to move my entire collection to my computer since I'd lost the IR remote control, which my Sony 400 cd changer has.
This sounds cool. More info please!

I Don't Know about an IR Remote, But How about a Wireless RF Remote/Mouse. Gyration Makes USB compatible Keyboards & Mice which don't even need to me in line of sight or same room.

These guys are talking about networked control via 802.11...
For IR control (and queueing playlists etc will be hard) you can use an IRMan (http://www.evation.com/irman/) and Girder (www.girder.nl) to give basic transport controls...
For media browsing etc 802.11 (or bluetooth networking ??) is the way to go as you can browse and control...

I use IRMan and Girder for media browsing as well. Most of what you need are:
Cursor keys
Tab
Return
Plus Girder can emulate your mouse cursor if you loose focus or find something without a hotkey.
