Title: No license on reboot
Post by: joekingsbox on July 24, 2002, 04:24:58 am
I am having a problem:
Machine- running XPpro, try to install license with MJ8.0 open, "from file" I get a failure error, if I go to A:floppy(where I copied the license to from this site), with MJ8.0 closed, license will install. "Buy Media Jukebox and Restore License" turn from black to grey. "Back up license" disappears alltogether. After I reboot the machine.  "Buy Media Jukebox and Restore License" are black again. and  "Back up license" reappears in grey.
The machine I am trying to install this on, has no modem, or ethernet card, it is strictly a jukebox and DVD player for my living room.
How can I get this thing to stay in, the file that I have is:  Media Jukebox8-7445.mjr    I thought that it was supposed to be an rrg. file? Did I get the wrong file? Do I need to get a new file? any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks and have a good day.JK:^)

Are you running with administrator privileges?

I am not logged in as the administrator, but the profile I am running to the best of my knowledge allows me pretty much full access. (I am the one that set up this machine and loaded XPpro)I know better than to leave the machine in administrator mode when I let others operate this mediaplayer.(made that mistake once - took me a couple hours to straighten out the mess)
Are you saying that I need to load this under the administrator profile? Seems odd, I have not restricted access to MJ8.0 in any way, than again I am new to XPpro, 1st machine on this op. system, and its only been up for a couple weeks. I have a lot better knowledge of 98se.
Thanks for your time, and I appreciate any helpful info. :^)JK
