Title: suggestion for a reliable IR receiver for a Logitech Harmony
Post by: jarthel on November 12, 2008, 11:51:26 pm
I want to buy a Harmony one (http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/remotes/universal_remotes/devices/3898&cl=us,en) and I want to know what would be the ideal IR receiver for it? Maybe infrared is not the most ideal and maybe you can suggest others?

what about the IR receiver that came with MCE remote (the microsoft-branded remote)?

Thank you :)

That's what I use and it works flawlessly for me.

If your harmony is emulating the standard MCE remote, stick with the MCE receiver. No point complicating things :)

Just to be sure: is the MediaCenter remote meant with the "MCE remote"? Or is it another brand or so?

The remotes were called MCE originally, for Media Center Edition.  Now they're mostly called Media Center remotes.  They're meant to be the same thing, but they are all a little different.  We probably tested 20 before we selected the one we sell (ad above).
