I just installed build 79 and signed up. When I try to log in, I get: "Error logging into music service. Please try later."
I clicked the Forgot your password? link and received a new password, but I continue to get the same error every time.

This Version Is Working For Me.

There's a limit on the number of machines that can be used with one account. Three, I believe.
A few similar problems have been fixed recently. You could try the latest build here:

That is the build I'm using - 6.0.79, and I am only using it on one machine. I did download and install the software on another, but I only registered on the machine I'm trying to use it from now.

I'll ask Tom to help.

I have exactly the same problem...

Jimh must be on vacation?

Could you guys enable logging (Help/Logging/output to a log file), try to login, then send me a log file following the "Error logging into music service" error message?
Thanks,

I have a log file ready, but I can't figure out how to send it. Your e-mail address is hidden in your profile and if I can't include it in the body of the reply because it is too many characters. I can't find any way to attach a file.
Let me know.

Hi tmarnik,
Sorry for the login troubles you are experiencing, I'm sure we can get you up and running.
You can make the log file MUCH smaller by only enabling "Store" logging. Here's how:
1. Start Performer Media Center
2. go into Help / Logging / Type of events to log, and uncheck all events except "Store". Make sure "Output to a log file" is checked.
3. click "Click to reset log file", then click Ok on the popup "The log file has been reset", then click Ok on the Logging dialog
4. try to log-in
5. after you get the error "Error logging into music service. Please try later.", go back into Help / Logging.
6. click "View" for current log
7. copy and paste all the text into an email message
8. send it to johnt@jriver.com
Thanks!

John,
I e-mailed the log to you last night after getting your address from KingSparta. Let me know if you have not received it.
Thanks,
Tom

Yeah i also mailed you yesterday.. If you need another logfile please say..
-
I found the problem - it affects users who have created new accounts with build 79. You will have to install a new build which will be ready shortly (1 to 2 hours?). I'll email a link to you guys.
Sorry for the hassle, and thanks for sending in those log files.

This was fixed in build 80.
-
The problem has returned. Build 80 was working for me for a while, but now I can't log in, and It won't even send me a new password.
Please help!
-
I'm sorry for the problem. It's working for me. Could you try a reboot?
Please try build 81 (on this board).
If that doesn't work, please send a log to JohnT again.
-
81 Works For Me Also, I Just Downloaded It And Tested it.
-
I'm not even finding marnik in the logs. Do you have a PMC log of a failed login attempt?

The substring needs to be found for the string to be found.

I did try build 81. That did not work when I tried it the other day. It does work now, but there is still something screwy with my account. It won't let me change my password. It claims that the password I logged in with is not my password.
I will send a log to JohnT.
