Media Jukebox 8.0.334 is available for download:

History:
1. Fixed: Sometimes MJ would be confuses which image file to use, internal or external.
2. Fixed: Converter was displaying "file not found" message if user was attempting to convert currently playing file.
3. Fixed: ASPI version checking was using File version instead of Product Version.
4. NEW: Added progress counter to the Drag & Drop process.
5. NEW: Direct channel switching added to TV Tuner. To access a channel number directly, hold down the Ctrl key and press NumPad keys in succession, then release the Ctrl key.

Hello,

since installing 8.0.333 and now again with this release, i get the following message.

"Windows Media Format 7.1 Audio File Setup

Error registering the OCX c:\Windows\system32\3codeca.acm"

just push ok and everything seems to works, but don't know what it is.

3codeca.acm is a codec installed by Windows Media installer.  It will fail to install if the codec is in use.  Make sure that all applications are closed before installing Media Jukebox.

I unimstall (Add/Remove Programs) version 8.0.333 as I had problems getting the ASPI driver to install. The installation of 8.0.334 went very however I noticed in the system info the version 4.6 of the ASPI driver was installed rather then 4.70 which I believe in the lastest version. (see Below)

What about the CDDB Server can't be found (82fa0008) bug.
It was said it would be fixed on the next build?

I am sorry to report that InCD by the makers of Nero still causes MJB to freeze when the CD, DVD and handheld is clicked.
That Happens when a UDF formated cdrw is in the drive.
Only way to realse MJB from freezing is to eject the cdrw.

Still awaiting response,
Niv

INCD had a problem that some users reported was fixed by updating Nero.

ARGHH i have a problem, when i am listenning music like "zapping" ( listen 2/3 seconds) the computer reebots for no particular reason and startup with no problems and even scandisk don't appear, after that i turn on MJ and half of my library is gone and i have to import files again. don't know why! It's because i use WMA, MP3 an OGG and the codecs enter in conflict? or is because of the Sounblaster Live card? i'm going now download the latest Sounblaster drivers to find if it fix the problem

Thamk you very much for adding direct TV channel switching via the keypad. It really makes TV channel surfing a lot faster.

FYI about ASPI: In Windows 2000, the current ASPI (4.71.1), when correctly installed, uses a mix of file versions 4.6 and 4.71.1.  Be sure to use the aspichk.exe that comes with the version you are installing.  Using an earlier version will report ASPI to be incorrectly installed, when in fact, it is correctly installed.

The files and their versions that are reported to be 'properly installed and fully operational' are these:

ASPI32.SYS = 4.71.1
WOWPOST.EXE = 4.6 (1021)
WINASPI.DLL = 4.6 (1021)
WNASPI32.DLL = 4.71.1

See JohnT's message about ASPI:
http://www.musicex.com/cgi-bin/interact/NeoBoard.pl?Action=ShowPost&Board=inter&Post=12334&BoardIdle=2&SortingBy=0&BoardOrder=Descend&Page=0&UserSession=&Marked=

Adaptec's filename only indicates 4.71, but it really installs 4.71.1

Get ASPI 4.71.1 here:

------------------------------ InCD Issue ------------------------------------------------------------

My current setup is:

Media Jukebox PLUS 8.0.334
Install Path: G:\Program Files\Media Jukebox 8\

CPU: Intel Pentium 4 1817 MHz MMX
Memory: Total - 523 MB, Free - 288 MB
OS: Microsoft Windows 2000  Workstation 5.0 Service Pack 2 (Build 2195)

Internet Explorer: 5.50.4807.2300
ComCtl32.dll: 5.50.4807.2300
Shlwapi.dll: 5.50.4807.2300
Shell32.dll: 5.00.3502.4718
wnaspi32.dll: 4.71 (0001) , ASPI for Win32 (95/NT) DLL, Copyright © 1989-2002 Adaptec, Inc.
Aspi32.sys: 4.71 (0001)

Current Nero version 5.5.9.0 OEM
Current InCD version 3.31.0

Using a 12/10/32A Plextor drive (after the update for win 2000 that appears on the Plextor site)

Bug scenario:
- I insert a cdrw which was formatted by InCD and get the window saying that "The disk was mounted in InCD UDF file format"
- I run MJB everything is cool
- I click on the CD,DVD, &HandHelds
- I get the "Analyzing devices" window from MJB, windows task manager reports that MJB is Not Responding, MJB uses about 10% of CPU.

Dead end, only way out is to kill MJB, eject the cdrw, and run MJB again while the cdrw is out.

Any help is kindly welcomed,
Niv

1 - During CD burning, the STATUS: section at the bottom of the screen read "NO DISC LOADED" when in fact there was & it burnt OK.

2 - Then while trying to use the CD LABELLER & the label wizard etc, the Text wouldn't fit in the box. Then when I had to go to the LABEL EDITOR, whenever I tried to reduce the font size it would just jump back up to whatever it was (even when I had unticked the "AUTO SIZE TEXT TO FIT BOX" box) & again the track listing would not fit in the box, no matter what I did e.g enlarge/reduce box, change font etc etc.

1 - During CD burning, the STATUS: section at the bottom of the screen read "NO DISC LOADED" when in fact there was & it burnt OK.

Will the status update correctly if you click somewhere in the burn list and hit F5?

2 - Then while trying to use the CD LABELLER & the label wizard etc, the Text wouldn't fit in the box. Then when I had to go to the LABEL EDITOR, whenever I tried to reduce the font size it would just jump back up to whatever it was (even when I had unticked the "AUTO SIZE TEXT TO FIT BOX" box) & again the track listing would not fit in the box, no matter what I did e.g enlarge/reduce box, change font etc etc.

I can't duplicate that problem here. Could you save the CD labeler file (*.mjl) and then email it to me?

Thanks,
John T.

Dave,

82fa0008 comes from CDDB control.  I have no idea how to fix it or what that short description of the problem means.

Are you behind a firewall?
Does your DNS server function correctly?

I'm able to reproduce this problem here now that I've downloaded Nero 5.5.9. Not sure if it's a problem in MJ or Nero, since on my computer most CD applications seem to have problems (hang) with the InCD formatted disk. I tried Windows CD player, Windows Media Player, Musicmatch, Winamp, etc. When I tried to run Nero, it said to eject the InCD disc first and then rerun Nero. Can you run other applications ok on you computer which access the CD?

Thanks,
John T.

Nikolay,

I also have a CD catalog program that doesn't have this problem. Able to retrieve info from that program.
If it's not an MJ related bug is there something in the options of MJ that might have been altered after installing 8.0.333?
