Hi,
I just purchased MC (13). The download stated this is a beta, so I know there's bound to be issues and I'm ok with that. My problem is this:
When I first entered my activation code and ran the program, after scanning for files (successfully) the program froze. So I restarted and while browsing my library (for less than a minute) the same problem occurred (program not responding). This is the full error report:
Problem signature:

I'm dying to use this. Can anyone help, or shed some light on the problem? I'm running Vista Home Basic SP1. Thanks!

The MC13 beta build is actually fairly stable. Crashes relating to JRTools.dll are usually related to the Windows Explorer integration (adding MC to the Windows Explorer right-click menu).
Have you tried rebooting? Often that fixes JRTools.dll issues. If not, try uninstalling, rebooting, installing from scratch, rebooting again, and then try running it.
If none of that works, we'll need to look at your logs.

Thanks, I'll give that a shot.
If it makes a difference, this only seems to be happening while navigating my audio library. While I was on the Home page and fiddling with Options, I had no problem.
-
Is this a build you got from our site?
If it freezes again, wait. You may get an error message that would help.

Yes, I got the build from: http://www.jrmediacenter.com/download.html
The problem persists after uninstalling, rebooting, reinstalling, rebooting. The screen freezes up and then a Windows box appears saying the program is not responding, and to either close now or search online for a solution. And then the problem signature I already posted.
Any ideas?

I don't know what it is, but please wait 60 minutes.
Windows can say "not responding" when a program is still active.

Waited, box remained "Media Center Stopped Working"

MC has logging under the Help menu. See if you can turn it on and get a log. Look for "crash".
It would be worth trying the newer version here at the top of the MC13 board.
In MC Tools/Options/General, turn off the options under "Metadata..."
In Options/Library, remove any auto-import settings.
Over-eager virus checkers or firewalls can do strange things.
-
Alright, it says the log file is currently empty. I'll try the newer version and see what happens. Thanks for the help!

Still experiencing the problem. So far I've tried:
-Uninstalling, rebooting, reinstalling, rebooting
-Installed new build
-Waiting to see if the program would respond/recover from "Program Not Working"
-In MC Tools/Options/General, turn off the options under "Metadata..."/In Options/Library, remove any auto-import settings."
-Checking logs (empty)
Nothing has helped. No other program gives me this issue. So far, I haven't been able to use MC for more than two minutes at a time. I've even tried closing out all other programs while running it.
Can anyone help?

If the logs are empty, you may not have logging checked (on).
Virus checker?
This thread has some weird problems that were caused by other software:

Can you get your system info and copy it here? It's under MC Help.

Turned Avira off, but the problem is still there. System info:

Logs?

I don't know what happened, but I haven't had the problem all day (and ran it all day).
Thanks for all the help!

I read in another thread that you were running audioscrobbler. It can cause problems if it's not working. I think there is a thread on it in the "Weird Problems" thread in my signature.
