Title: Configuring Default Content for New Tab
Post by: Dutch Peter on December 09, 2008, 02:18:40 pm
I use the tabbed view. In Tools > Options > Startup I set Location to 'Last Location'.
That works fine.
Now what happens when I add an aditional tab. It defaults to the Start page, which is switched of in the Features list under Tools > Options > General > Advanced > Features.

I would like to default to Playing Now, a Playlist, or a certain View.

Can I do that?

I was going to post the same. Would be nice to be able to select what content is used for a new tab. For me disabling the start page doesn't have a effect for new tabs (neither on vista nor on XP).

Disabling the Start page does not help.
Changing the Location to 'Audio' also does not help. MC12 behaves differently. If the Location is 'Audio' and not 'Last Location', the default for a new tab is also 'Audio'.
Since we prefer the setting 'Last Location' that would not be of much help.
I think we need something like 'Default View for new Tab'.

I'm not all that keen on new tabs opening at the start page either...

You know that a middle click on a tree item opens that view in a new tab?

I'm still in training to move from: "need a new tab > open tab > select view" to "need a new tab > middle click on view to get new tab with view"
It works well.

What I'd like, is that if I ask MC for a view by clicking (or middle clicking) in the tree, and the view is already open in another tab, that MC just display that already open tab rather than duplicate the view.

no you are not the only ones. i also have the start page disabled. i would not mind if it always jumps to playing now or what ever, but to something that i disabled is a bit frustrating. i dont have a middle button, maybe i should add it to my mouse...  ;)

No middle button here!!
Could we consider this a bug? and post it in the MC13.0.82 thread?
