Title: Help please - issue with track not appearing under artist

I have an MP3 track that is in the library and I can locate it via "album" but when I look via "artist" this track does not appear. I've tried removing it from the library and re-importing it but the same problem still occurs.

Can somebody please help me with this. TIA. John.

Most likely it has something to do with the tags for the track. If you look at the album tracks, is the tags Album Artist (auto) the same for all? Sounds like that one track might be different.

The Artist name may have a typo.  Try re-tagging it.

I've tried re-tagging, deleting it from the library, then moving it and reimporting it still no dice. I've tried tagging it with a different artist name and still the same problem. All the other files from the CD seem to be OK.

Any other thoughts please?

Delete or adjust the plain "Album Artist" tag if it has a value.

(Not the "Album Artist (auto)" tag which is filled automatically and used for the artist info in the default artist/album thumbnail and pane views.)
