Title: Stock Theater View Views That Should Be There But Aren't
Post by: glynor on December 18, 2008, 03:10:15 pm
Matt asked a little while back:

If you believe there are stock views that should be there that aren't, please let us know.  An album view for images is one I miss.

I'd suggest two for Video (both should really be defaults for Standard View as well):

(1) TV Shows
Categories: [Series]/[Season]
Filter: [Media Sub Type] = TV Show
Sort: Series/Season/Episode/Name

(2) Movies
Categories: I use [Keywords] here, but perhaps for a default just leaving it blank might be best.
Filter: [Media Sub Type] = Movie
Sort: Name

And one more plea for adding some values to the [Media Sub Type] list so that I can actually use that field instead of having to make my own.  Either let us add them ourselves (unlock it) or give us some more defaults to work with.  We've posted a bunch of lists in the past for this...

Yes. That would help. A lot of users that have to use a custom field today.
There's so much to be put in this category. The requests will probably never end. So, please unlock the thing :)

I think a "Calendar View" (based on the [Date] field) for Images in Theater View would be quite useful as well.  One with Year/Month/Day Categories...

And, assuming that "Home Movies" (or something similar) can be added to the [Media Sub Type] list, then an identical one for those in Video would be useful as well, with a filter (of course).

I agree with Glynor.  They should be stock from standard view too.
