Title: Tracking recent changes
Post by: JONCAT on December 24, 2008, 01:35:29 pm
If I were to tag offline (i.e. use a copy of my library for editing my Library) and then copy my Library back to my master, is there a way (other than tagging a special field) to track the changes? I'm thinking of something like Recently Imported.

I'm trying to avoid selecting my entire library and "update tags from library" unless MC13 does this relatively quickly. I guess if I'm already tagging I might as well create or use a field to denoted that these library files would have to have the data updated to the tags in files.

What happens upon Auto-Import? Are all file tags scanned for updates? In this case the question is a moot point.

I plan on playing around with this but I'm away for the holidays.

Auto-import can detect external changes.

But changes made inside the program while files are missing or the option to write tags is explicitly disabled will not be written to the tags later.

You will have to manually Update Tags (from library).  You could also just let Media Center tag as you work, which is the default behavior.
