Title: Passing tags to .m4a?
Post by: JONCAT on January 27, 2009, 11:15:22 am
Is there still no easy way to pass tags to the external itunesencode.exe for .ape/.flac > .m4a conversion?

It would be great if the External Encoder plug-in could pass tag info too.

These templates are available with iTunesEncode

That would make command lines like this possible:

-e "Lossless Encoder" -a %[Artist]% -l %[Album]% -n %[track #]% -t %[Name]% -i %IN -o %OUT -d

The External Encoder would then replace the %[field name]% strings with the corresponding library field data.

It doesn't do this because the external encoder assumes the tag data is in the library. Seems like for this example anyway it would be nice to have the option.

Nope. Nor can MC13 tag m4a, mp4, aac, etc. files natively... (yet).

Thanks, I got DBPoweramp working but still have my fingers crossed that this support will become native in MC sometime soon. Let's face it, this and iPod/iPhone support would put MC at the top of the food chain...yum  ;D

Any timeframe for supporting these formats?  I keep checking the changes in new versions, but no sign after over a month.

Thanks
