Hello anybody,
when I play music with MediaCenter 13 (latest version), the process dcraw.exe is started in the background. After a short while, the notebook fan begins to get loud. The reason seems to be that dcraw.exe - according to Windows Resource Manager - is using 50% of CPU...
Does anybody else have a similar problem and perhaps a solution?
I have a Intel Dual Core 7300 (2 Ghz), 2 GB RAM and I am using Windows 7 Beta (version 7000).
Thanks a lot!

DCRaw I believe is used to open/generate thumbnails for RAW Files from cameras.
Have you got many of these? You'll probably find once it's finished generating thumbnails it'll come back down.

That's a good explanation. I recently imported a huge library and probably now all thumbnails are generated.
Thanks a lot!

Now all thumbnails have been generated, but still DCRaw is running and consuming CPU power when I start MediaCenter... :(
Any idea?

It can look like all thumbnails are done, but this takes a long time if you don't start it manualy. I suspect it's not finished at all.
Go to Options, Tree and View, Thumbnails, and build missing thumbnails. This will show you what is missing, and the progress of the thumbnailing.
Once it's completed you're CPU should breath again...... I hope.
