Title: Feature request -- sampling a song
Post by: jefft514 on February 12, 2009, 10:28:01 pm
I would like to suggest an ability to sample a song in an alternate audio card feeding a pair of headphones for song selection while building a playlist.
A second audio card is nothing $
Right click to sample perhaps

You can already do this with Zones.  Simply configure a second Zone for the secondary soundcard and then play files in it's separate Playing Now list.

I use this with a USB external sound card for my laptop for DJ-ing all the time!  The (nicer) external USB soundcard powers my "live audio" and I plug my headphones into the laptop's headphone jack.

Search for old posts by me and the word "zone" and you should find some descriptions of how the setup works.

I just explained a "DJ" setup in this reply:
