Title: Question about keeping the same library between Windows XP and Vista machines
Post by: Osho on February 19, 2009, 01:13:26 pm
Hi,

I currently have 2 Windows XP (32-bit) machines. Both of the machines have their library in C:\Library (with the thumbnails in C:\Library\tn directory). I like to keep the exact same library on both machines. So, I run an automated nightly job that copy C:\Library from the "main" computer to the "secondary" computer. I have the same version of MC13 installed on both machines. And, both MC13 can have an identical library without any issues.

I am planning to upgrade my "main" computer to a newer processor, motherboard, memory and Vista64 OS. Would I still be able to do what I do currently to keep the same library on both machines? Or, are the library formats inherently different between the two machines with different OS?

Thanks,
Osho

MC's library would be the same.

Just so you have real world usage feedback... I'm currently sharing a library between 2 XP machines and 2 Windows 7 machines.  Works fine.
