Please help me. My songs won't transfer, it says I need to upgrade to portable. I selected portable when I signed up a few months ago. I am getting the 15.99 charged to my card. I tried to toggle my plan from standard to portable and vice versa with no fix. I am able to transfer songs from Rhapsody fine (even though I hate Rhapsody's interface). I tried to create a new account with new name and new card, but it would not let me create it, saying there was an error in programming code or something. Sorry, I don't have the exact error, but I can recreate if needed.
MP3 player is Sandisk Sansa Fuze. I've tried USB modes: Auto, MTP, MSC. I assume auto is fine, but right now it is on MTP.
Please help me soon, I leave for spain this evening! I appreciate it so much.

Here is the error I receive when trying to create a new portable account with new name/card..
"There was an error creating your account.
Error: Can't locate object method "LastChargeResult" via package "Accounts" at Accounts.pm line 741.
Please contact customer support or try again later."
Here is the error I receive when trying to transfer songs..
"Sorry, your subscription does not include transfers to portable devices. See the account menu for information on upgrading your subscription."
What next? I'm very savvy at this stuff, but can't figure this one out!!
-
We're looking into this now ...
-
Yay! Thank you SO MUCH! :)
-
Initial check shows that you have a subscription through the 27th. Looks like we charged you for that on the 27th. You're good through the 2.27. Sub looks good.
Have to look deeper.

Just an update... I uninstalled and reinstalled and when I tried to login, received the error below. I know this is probably because you are working on the account.:
"Error authorizing account.
Failed to access class (BackendSOAP): global symbol "$ID" requires explicit package name at Accounts.pm line 1478.
Compilation failed in require at BackendSOAP.pm line 11.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at BackendSOAP.pm line 11.
Compilation failed in require at (eval 95) line 3."

The error I just posted seems to be resolved. I'm able to login now, but still can't transfer songs to portable.
-
Tried creating a new account again and received the following message:
"Error: Ciphertext does not begin with a valid header for 'salt' header mode at /usr/local/lib/perl/5.8.8/Crypt/Twofish.pm line 66"
-
Too much stuff has snuck out of the lab today.
-
We're working on your original account.
-
Expect a build to be posted shortly.
Thanks for finding the other items. Some of the test stuff made it out early.
-
So I should just download and install the new version and my problem should be resolved?
-
Yes, when the new version is installed the device transfer should work correctly. Sorry for the troubles.
-
Thanks! My flight is early evening. Hopefully you can get it posted soon. :)
PS.. just a shot in the dark... this probably won't work in Spain, will it?
-
Maybe... Give it a try ;)
The build should be posted within an hour.
-
FYI, no rush, I went to the FTP site and downloaded MPC83.exe and it works!! When I get back in the states, I'll download the new version and let you know if that works as well. Thank you so much for your help!
-
Ok, have a great trip! I'm jealous :-\
-
Arg! It's not allowing me to play the files on my player! Says to Sync, but I've already done that! Can you help me?
-
Please try this:
1. disconnect the device from the computer
2. startup PMC and login to your account
3. test playback of a subscription file in the store, does it start playing the full track?
4. plugin your device
5. after PMC recognizes the device and shows the tracks on it, unplug it and see if the songs play
If not, please download build 92 (just posted) and try the same procedure.
-
It just keeps re-downloading the same songs.. then I try to play it and my portable says to sychro.
-
Did you try build 92?
-
yes
-
Songs play full length from PMC, and play from portable using PMC to play them. Portable just keeps saying to synchro. the same tracks keep re-downloading to the device.
-
I'm going to try logging in with your account here and test device transfer. You won't be able to use the account during this period of time (15-30 minutes). I'm going to use the stawn@ymail.com account.
What is the name of the device you're using?
-
Sandisc sansa fuze.
Gotta leave now or I'll miss my flight.. :(
I appreciate your promptness and help today. Guess I'll give it a shot in Spain. Go ahead and use my account to it's fullest to troubleshoot. I'll be unreachable for about 15 hours. Thanks again.
-
Thanks for your patience.
-
Darn! I just found the problem and will be posting a new (fixed) build shortly. It occurs when you have had an existing account and then create a new account, it won't grab a new subscription license until the following day. I'll put your account back to where it was and please try it again in Spain. You shouldn't need to transfer the files again, just plug in the device, let PMC recognize it, then unplug and test it out. Of course you'll need to be connected to the Internet at the time.
Let us know. Sorry you had to be the guinea pig on this.
Have a great trip!

Ok. Back from Spain. It was great! But... still no MP3. When I connect my device, I have three options for connecting. Auto, MTP, or MSC. Am I correct that I should be connecting using MTP?
MTP shows up as "USB Device" in PMC. MSC shows up as "Sansa Fuze" in PMC. I am able to activate my device for subscription transfers via MSC, but not MTP. It tells me to make sure my subscription is up-to-date and that I have an internet connection. I can play all music inside PMC and browse the internet, so my connection and subscription appear to be ok.
Mainly, the only way I can sync is via MSC, which shouldn't be the case, correct? When I sync the files, they don't play on the device. The device tells me to sync to update my subscription licenses.
-
MTP should be the one. You're using the newest PMC build?
-
Yes using 93.
-
I'd like to try to deactivate my device and see if that helps, but in my troubleshooting have already used my deactivation. Can you reset my deactivation limit?
-
We can, but it may not take effect until tomorrow. Sorry for the delay.
-
Finally Fixed!!
I just realized that the "Auto" was connecting via MSC during most of the troubleshooting!! It occurred to me that it might not be letting me activate it as MTP because I've previously synced songs under MSC. I reformatted my device and set it to MTP instead of "Auto". PMC recognized it as USB Device and finally allowed me to activate it for sync. Transferred 4 DRM songs and was able to listen to them on my device. Whew!! :)
note: I'd still like to have the deactivation limit reset, since I used it during troubleshooting.
PS Thanks for all of your help, it's appreciated! Keep up the great work, this is a wonderful new service. Are better Visualizers on the way? G-force? ;)
-
Glad to hear it's working!
Your device activations/deactivations have been reset.
