I have recently ditched my Creative soundcard in favour of the superior Edirol UA-1EX 24bit 96kHz USB "Audio Interface".
The improvement in sound quality is stark.
The card uses an "advanced driver" from Edirol to support ASIO and has a switch on the device itself to enable this function.
My problem is that if I set the output on MC to ASIO it initially plays fine, but crashes MC when I hit stop. If I exit and restart MC then it doesn't recognise the card.
Everything works fine if I set MC to play with Direct Sound or Wave Out. Am I doing something wrong ?
As I'm keen to get the best possible sound from my system then any advice on optimized settings would be welcomed.
Should add that I'm running XP sp2.

The driver isn't working. You might investigate whether ASIO4All will work. I don't know.

It sort of sounds like a driver bug, since it's not something we've heard before.
You might let Edirol know about the issue. We're happy to help them if necessary.

Thanks for the swift replys, they are appreciated. I'll try and contact Edirol and see if it's a common problem. :)
