Title: AVI files have a black screen

Please help: why Media Center does not play my avi files. I only get a black screen, listening to the audio only.

"avi" is just a video container format. Knowing it is avi does not give you any information about what type of video encoding (or "codec") it uses. It sounds like your system is not properly configured to play back certain video codecs in your avi files.

If you download and install CCCP, it will enable your system to play back most popular video formats.
