Title: Irman plugin - Can you make it operate jrmc only, please?
Post by: raldo on March 07, 2009, 05:46:45 am
When theater view is not in focus, the remote "doesn't work".

I noticed that the directional buttons emulate the arrow buttons on the keyboard in the window that is in focus, for example firefox.

Now, when one pushes the toggle view button on the remote, focus switches back to mc, but the view changes.

Is this intentional?

So my request is to make mc (or theaterview) come into focus when a remote button is pushed...

The latest versions of MC have good support for the XP Media Center Edition and Vista Media Center remotes.  Those remotes have a "Green Button".  The button will start MC IF Media Server is running.  I start Media Server on Windows start, and I set MC to start in Theater View (Options/Startup).

Are you saying I should buy a new IR receiver?

Or can the IRMAN plugin somehow emulate an XP Media Center Edition IR receiver?

The remotes usually come with a receiver and they run $30 to $40.

Vista remotes don't seem to work with XP, and the reverse is probably also true.

Here's a thread with some info on what remotes people use:

Ok, so the message is "Buy a new one".
