Title: clicks & pops for audio CD playback
Post by: shAf on July 18, 2002, 02:12:49 pm
After hearing so much about MJ I thought I'd give it a try.  I ended up disappointed with my 1st trial which was simple playback of an audio CD.  Comparing it to Winamp, I heard distinctive "clicks" and "pops" from MJ ... Winamp out of my soundcard into amplifier was perfect.

MJ does appear to be a significant piece of music software, and I'd love to remedy this problem for the sake of my growing MP3 collection... but sound will win out over software.

 Suggestions???

Did you try analog playback instead of digital?  [via Settings > Options > Devices Settings (icon) and uncheck the 'Use digital playback' checkbox.

Thanx ... the setting was "digital" ... seems better with "analog" ... listening continues ......

... strange that it was set to "digital".  MJ should be paying attention to the similar setting as part of its "device properties".
