Title: Vista Multiple User Accounts
Post by: nuke2000 on March 25, 2009, 12:43:18 pm
Posting as seperate topic because i think it deserves some attention

I am having problems with multiple users on vista. MC Works fine under the account it was installed under  but does not function under other user accounts (opens and freezes - unable to access main MC toolbar and is rendered inoperable, although MC does not actually crash)

Any ideas?

edit - tried uninstall and reinstall using other user account but seems to only function under account it was first installed under. It is on a brand new fresh install of vista 64bit. tried an earlier version -same issue

2nd edit - Exhibits same behaviour on other pc also running Vista HP x64 so not isolated to specific configuration or hardware

Please help

What happens if you try it without UAC, or at least run as administrator once?

I just tried on a Vista x64 development machine and it worked fine.  However, that is with UAC off.

UAC?

I'm running multiple accounts on Vista 64 without problems.

Hi there

Tried diabling UAC - no joy.
Tried adding a new account to test if account specific - no joy

I appreciate you are not having issues but i am and as noted not specific to 1 pc

Any more suggestions, any more info i can supply to help diagnose?

You support is greatfully received

If it opens and freezes, it may be failing when it tries to start a plugin.  Try disabling all third-party plugins.

A log from Media Center would also help.  You may have to enable logging by creating / setting this registry value:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\JRiver\Media Center 13\Debug\File = 1 (DWORD)
