MC 13 completely locks up when i try to exit. I love the product and it seems to work just fine when i open and play my music files. But I have to shut it down in the Task manager every time I try to exit. I have temporarily installed it on a different system and the same thing happens.

MC needs to do some saving of stuff like settings and database and all on shut-down.
I believe forcing it closed can cause some problems with your library.
How long will it take if you leave it alone until it closes by itself?
-
I have left it for at least 30 minutes with out a change. Thanks
-
It seems that the longer I let MC 13 run (a long playlist) the worse it gets. Thanks
-
Why do you think it hasn't shut down? What do you see on the screen?
Any third party plug-ins in use?
-
No third party plugins. The screen just locks up. All menus are inactive, minimize, maximize, close buttons inactive, etc. The application just locks. Thanks for all the help

Anything else non-standard? This isn't a problem I can recall.
-
Nothing else non-standard; just a very large library of over 70000 tracks. After doing some testing MC13 freaks out when a lot of tracks are selected for playback or MC13 is in use for a long period of time: problems I never had with MC12. Thanks for the help.
-
70,000 tracks is a medium large library. There are many much larger libraries around. It isn't that.
But, you could try setting up a new library. It's possible your old one is corrupt. Killing the program is one way that could happen.
Under File/Library/Library Manager, choose Add. Set it up in a new location, and import a few files. Does the freeze still happen?

I noticed (several versions ago) that the thumbnail checking would take place on exit and could take a minute or so. But MC would exit if given time. HDD activity was very high during this time as it scanned the thumbnail database for any orphan files. A setting allows you to disable this but newer versions have altered how this works.

Thanks for all the help! I cleared my old library and let MC13 rescan the drive and build a new one. It now seems to act much better, although still not exiting as quickly or cleanly as MC12. Once again, thanks.
